Police called to deliberate fire early this morning
Police and fire crews were called to a fire in the early hours of this morning in Taunton, which it's believed was started deliberately.
They attended the scene in South Street just after 530 this morning.
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue said: "One Fire Engine from Taunton was sent to a report of a rubbish fire.
"On arrival crews confirmed this was a large rubbish fire that was now catching alight the side of a domestic property.
"A further Fire Engine from Taunton was sent to assist.
The fire involved domestic waste that had be deliberately set alight.
"It was extinguished using two hose reel jets.
"A gas mains was also affected, so the gas board were requested to attend, as well as the Police."
