Woman charged following dog attack in Havant

A 3-year-old girl suffered life-changing injuries

A 45-year-old woman has been charged after a three-year-old girl suffered life-changing injuries after being attacked by a Doberman in Havant.

The youngster was taken to hospital following the incident in Botley Drive in Leigh Park on August 8th.

Police have now charged Lisa Garner, who lives in the street, with being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury.

She was bailed by officers to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on November 10.

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "At around 6.35pm on Monday August 8, we received a report that a three-year-old girl had been bitten by a dog on Botley Drive, Havant.

"The girl was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital for treatment. She is now recovering at home

"The dog involved, a doberman, has since been destroyed by police."
