The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith has revealed new measures brought into place to make sure there won't be a repeat of her spoiler gaffe from last year.

Speaking to the Daily Star Prue revealed that she has now been banned from tweeting during the popular TV show when it starts later this year. She told the publication, "The Bake Off public relations team now control all my tweets."

Continuing, "My toyboy John who is seven years younger asked them to carry on the arrangement for filming. It's probably for the best."

Prue famously tweeted who had won last year's The Great British Bake Off 12 hours before the episode was due to air.

Clearly excited about the episode, Prue got a little bit ahead of herself and tweeted the words, 'No one told me judging a #gbbo final would be so emotional. I wanted them all to win. Bravo,' and then wrote the winner's name.

Viewers of the baking show were left fuming with Prue after seeing her tweet, and highlighted her error.

Speaking on This Morning back in November Prue explained how she thought it was the worst half hour after she realised what she had done. She said, "I was in Bhutan and when I got reception in the hotel, there was this mass of tweets and one said, 'Don't forget to congratulate the winner' so I tweeted straight away."

Then, when she realised her mistake she couldn't delete it so she had to ring her PA! Her PA had deleted it after 89 seconds, however it was already too late.

Last year's series of The Great British Bake Off was the first on Channel 4 after being on the BBC since its beginning, as a result it meant that fan favourite and iconic baker Mary Berry left the programme to be replaced by Prue Leith.

Before Prue took over from Mary she was a judge on The Great British Menu for 11 years until 2016 and My Kitchen Rules.
