Tony Hadley has today confirmed the shock news that he's left the band Spandau Ballet.

Tony took to his Twitter account where he released a short statement, admitting he will no longer be a member of the band and will not be performing with them in the future.

The statement reads, 'Due to circumstances beyond my control, it is with deep regret that I am required to state that I am no longer a member of the band Spandau Ballet and as such I will not be performing with the band in the future' .

Tony was the lead singer of the band which is also made up of Steve Norman, John Keeble and Gary and Martin Kemp.

After a number of feuds the band split up in 1990 after having major success with hits such as 'True' and 'Gold'.

All original members of the band were able to put their differences aside back in 2009 when they reunited for a number of shows across the UK.

Tony and the rest of the band are yet to comment further on today's shock announcement.
