Surrey Trading Standards share Halloween products recall following safety concerns
If you're planning on taking your little one trick or treating tonight for Halloween you're being advised to check their costumes.
Surrey Trading Standards are making us aware that some outfits and decorations sold via Amazon and Poundland are being recalled due to safety concerns.
The following items have been recalled:
Maeau girls’ witch costume sold via Amazon
Maeau baby girl’s pumpkin outfit sold via Amazon
Yhong girl’s Halloween dress-up star outfit sold via Amazon
Spooktacular Creations Orange and Purple Halloween witch costume sold via Amazon
Licus Girls Royal Vampire Halloween Costume G-0108 sold via Amazon
Creepy town hanging ghost sold by Poundland
The products, many of which are children’s costumes, have been recalled because of the risk to safety which ranges from flammability to cuts and choking.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards has highlighted the range of unsafe Halloween products.
OPSS Chief Executive Graham Russell said:
"These products are meant to be fun, so it’s vital we highlight those that could turn a celebration into a genuine Halloween nightmare.
"I am particularly concerned because so many of these Halloween products are aimed at young children including, in one case, a baby-grow outfit."
The advice is not use any of these recalled products and to contact the retailer you purchased it from.
