Appeal for witnesses following serious collision in West Walton

Police are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses following a serious collision between a car and pedestrian on Wisbech Road at West Walton last night (4 May 2024).

The incident happened on Wisbech Road at the junction of Hunchback Lane, between 9.30pm and 9.45pm between a blue Renault Megane Scenic car and pedestrian. The driver failed to stop at the scene.

Road closures were in place from Wisbech Road to West Walton last night while emergency services were on scene and have since been lifted.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries, where he remains.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with excess alcohol, failing to stop and no insurance. He is being questioned at King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre.

Anyone with any information, dash cam footage, or who witnessed the manner of driving of the blue Megane between the times stated are asked to get in contact.
