Weekly Covid update for Hull and the East Riding

The Government's latest rolling figures has been published

The number of people in Hull hospitals with coronavirus has risen by 24 in one day to 161, according to the latest NHS figures.

Government figures show a further 3,234 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus across Hull and East Yorkshire in the week up to today (Tuesday, March 15). The latest rolling figures, updated today, show the case rate per 100,000 people across the region was 365.5 for Hull and 485.1 in the East Riding in the seven days up to Thursday, March 10, the latest weekly data available.

A total of 492,103 new coronavirus cases were recorded nationally in the week up to today, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 19,820,181, with 714 new deaths recorded, making a total of 163,095. The figures come as all remaining coronavirus restrictions on international travel, including filling out passenger locator forms and testing before entering the UK, are set to be lifted on Friday, March 18 at 4am.

The number of positive test results in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new weekly positive test results in brackets.

Hull: 81,994 (+1,136)

East Riding of Yorkshire: 93,423 (+2,098)

Hull: 795 (Four in the seven four days, up four weekly to Friday, February 25 to 864 with coronavirus on death certificate)

East Riding of Yorkshire: 953 (Up seven in the last seven days, up three weekly to Friday, February 11 to 1,065 with coronavirus on death certificate)

Government data up to Monday, March 14 shows that in the UK, 140,477,089 jabs have been given so far, 52,713,188 first doses, 49,226,170 second doses and 38,537,731 boosters.
