Ed Sheeran is engaged and his announcement was perfect

Ed Sheeran has announced that he is engaged to his long-term girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. The ‘Perfect' singer/songwriter took to Instagram on Saturday (20th January) to share the good news with his 19 million followers.
He captioned it, 'Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx.' sic
Last year the singer credited Cherry as a 'good woman' after nursing him back to health after a bike accident when he broke both of his arms. The pair have reportedly been dating since 2015, but were childhood friends who attended school together in Suffolk.
Ed hinted at wedding bells last year in an interview saying, “I’m really secure now, we live together and we have cats, and I think when you have cats that’s kind of it.”
Fans and friends of the pop star took to Twitter to congratulate the pair with everyone agreeing this was the 'moment'.
The couple are rarely photographed together and keep their relationship very private, however lyrics in his song 'Perfect', make so much sense now:
"We were just kids when we fell in love,
Not knowing what it was,
I will not give you up this time."
No details of the wedding have been revealed, but we can expect to hear all about it after.

The past two months have been incredibly successful for Ed, not only has he become engaged, his single 'Perfect' was Christmas number 1 and at the beginning of December he collected his MBE from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.
