With series 22 of hit Channel 4 show Gogglebox landing on 8th September, we thought it would be a good idea to take a look at one of our favourite Gogglebox families... Pete and Sophie Sandiford!
The hilarious brother and sister duo are always cracking us up on the telly - but they often have heartwarming moments and their lovely relationship really shines through. They're also brilliant on social media! Get to know the siblings below...
Who are the brother and sister on Gogglebox?
That would be Sophie and Pete Sandiford! Fans of the show always look forward to seeing this pair on the show not only for their hilarious wit, but also for their cute relationship. The pair are clearly friends as well as siblings - even if they do take the mickey out of each other now and then!
Are Sophie and Pete on Gogglebox twins?
Pete and Sophie are not twins, even though they pretty much look identical! Sophie's birthday is 3rd November, and she's currently 26-years-old, whilst Pete is two years older at 28.
Where are Pete and Sophie off Gogglebox from?
The pair are from Blackpool in Lancashire.
When did Pete and Sophie join Gogglebox?
Pete and Sophie joined Gogglebox in 2017 for series 10, and have been part of the show ever since!
Are Pete and Sophie from Gogglebox related to the Chuckle Brothers?
YES! In a bizarre turn of events, it turns out that Pete and Sophie off Gogglebox are related to the Chuckle Brothers! Pete has referred to Paul Chuckle as his uncle, and Paul has in turn posted about being uncle to the pair. They haven't revealed exactly how they're related i.e through which parent, but it's pretty exciting all the same.
In June 2019, Paul shared a snap of himself with Sophie and Pete, along with their other sister Lucy and Paul's wife Sue, using the hashtag 'Proud Uncle', later confirming the relationship to an inquiring fan.
Pete also shared an old family snap of himself and Sophie with Paul and Barry, two weeks after the sad news about Barry's passing in August 2018. He wrote, 'We are lucky enough to call him Uncle Barry ❤❤.'
Is Pete Sandiford from Gogglebox married?
He sure is! Pete married his girlfriend Paige Yeomans in 2021, with Pete marking their six-month anniversary by sharing some stunning snaps from their big day.
Pete wrote: ‘Happy 6 month wedding anniversary to my best mate, wife and the best mummy in the world @paigesandiford_.’
Is Pete Sandiford from Gogglebox a parent?
Yes, and Sophie is an Auntie! Pete announced that he was going to be a dad on Gogglebox in April 2020 when he showed the picture of the scan to his sister Sophie. Pete and his wife Paige welcomed a son, Jimmy later that year.
During the final episode of series 20 on Friday 9th December, Pete confirmed the lovely news himself and his wife Paige are expecting their second child together!
During the episode, Pete could be seen telling his son Jimmy that he will soon be an older brother.
He said: "You’re going to have to make the most of the attention Jimbers, now you’re going to have a little brother or sister coming. You’re going to have to milk it!"
In June 2023, Pete revealed that he and Paige had welcomed a baby girl named Eva Sylvie Sandiford. Eva even made an appearance with her dad on an episode of Gogglebox, where Pete can be seen to tell Sophie his daughter's full name.

Sophie dresses shop windows for a living, and her brother Pete works for an insurance company.

Ellie and Izzi Warner
Sisters Ellie and Izzi Warner from Leeds first joined the show back in 2015.
Izzi welcomed her baby girl, Bessie Rose, in February 2020, and after making a living as a nail technician has now qualified to be a mortgage adviser.
Meanwhile, Izzi's sister Ellie is a hairdresser!
Pete and Sophie
Brother and sister duo Pete and Sophie Sandiford first joined the cast in 2017. Whilst Sophie dresses shop windows for a living, brother Pete works for an insurance company.
The Siddiqui family
The Siddiqui family, made up of Umar, Baasit and their dad Sid, have become Gogglebox legends since joining the show back in series 1.
Dad Sid is a retired engineer, he also worked for the NHS for 37 years. Baasit is an IT teacher in a secondary school whilst Umar has also works for the NHS, he has been a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology at the Royal Derby Hospital for 17 years.
The Malone family
The Malone family, made up of Tom, Julie, Tom Jnr and Shaun, are one of the most popular families with fans. They first joined the cast in 2014.
As often documented on the show, Tom Jr is a professional dancer, but he also works as a freelance model! In March 2021, he announced he would be a chair-tester for an office supplies company, before quitting Gogglebox to pursue other career options.
His brother Shaun is a football coach, whilst dad Tom is a lorry driver and mum Julie is a receptionist.
Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig
Stephen Webb has appeared on every single series of Gogglebox, and in 2019 his husband Daniel Lustig joined him! The pair chose to leave in 2023, with Stephen announcing he was set to appear on the 2024 series of Dancing On Ice. Unfortunately for Stephen, he was forced to withdraw from the show after breaking his ankle.
The pair both work as hairdressers.
Dave and Shirley
Welsh couple Dave and Shirley, who have been married for over 40 years, first joined the show back in 2015.
Shirley works in retail and Dave is a factory worker.
Tremaine, Twaine and Tristan
Tremaine, Twaine and Tristan, brothers from Bristol, joined back in 2016, but the trio didn't appear on series 15.
Whilst Tremaine is a chef, Twaine is a winger for Hereford FC and Tristan used to be a semi-professional footballer for Bristol FC but is now playing for Bitton AFC.
Giles and Mary
Gogglebox fans fell in love with Giles and his wife Mary when they joined the cast in 2015.
Although it's not known what he does for a living, in series 15, Giles revealed he actually retired at the age of 21. Meanwhile, it's understood Mary writes as an 'agony aunt' for an online magazine.
The married couple are also reportedly good friends with former Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Jenny and Lee
Best friends Jenny and Lee first joined the show on series 4 back in 2014.
Although it's not known what the pair do for a living now, they first became friends when Jenny was a land lady at The Crown Inn in Paull, and Lee was a regular customer!
Sue and Steve
Married couple Sue and Steve first appeared on the show back in 2019.
Steve is a taxi driver in London.
Sophie's hair transformation
Ahead of Gogglebox's 16th season, Sophie prepared for the new series with a glam new hair do! Sophie, who appears on the show alongside her brother Pete, took to her Instagram page in August to reveal she's gone blonde. Looking glam in a coral dress, Sophie showed off her stunning new locks whilst enjoying a gin.
Fans of Sophie will know that she likes to mix it up with her hair often, and has sported many different colours in the past - even purple.
