Coronation Street actor to become a first-time dad at 16

Coronation Street actor Alex Bain, who plays Simon Barlow, is reportedly set to become a father in real life. The 16-year-old actor, who has starred on the soap since the age of six, has apparently been telling his school friends that his girlfriend of just over a year is expecting their baby.

His girlfriend, Levi Selby, is also 16 and has even posted a photo of her baby scan on social media, according to reports.

Levi apparently posted about her 12-week scan, revealing that their baby is due on 8th December.

Sources have said that it's unclear whether Alex, who is currently taking his GCSEs, is happy about the news, but added that he's "definitely not ashamed" of his news.

Levi's family are said to be over the moon at the news, as Levi's mother also took to social media to announce the happy news, posting a photo of the scan with the words, 'I'm thankful,' posted over the top of the image.

Over the last decade that he's been on the show, Alex has been able to get his teeth into some good storylines - resulting in a massive four nominations for Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards, and a win in 2011.
