As any Game of Thrones fan will know, next year will see the last EVER episode of the popular TV series hit our screens. Last week, the final scenes of the eighth series were filmed in Northern Ireland, and to celebrate the completion of this epic TV series, the cast and crew, had a massive party in Belfast.

Following the wrap, Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, posted a photo of some shoes covered in blood, which some fans think is a spoiler and an indication to what happens to her character.

Captioning the photo, 'goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i’ve had. here’s to the adventures to come #lastwomanstanding #barely #immasleepforthenextfouryears #justkiddingidontsleep' sic. Fans were quick to ask if the had just 'spoilt' the ending of the last series, with comments such as, 'Has the cast low key just spoiled the last season...', 'Ah stop it! I don’t want spoilers 😝. I’m hoping it’s just a tease 🙈' and 'DID YOU JUST GIVE US A SPOILER?!'.

Fans also rushed to take to the social news aggregation site Reddit where they discussed her Instagram post at length! Some suggested that they might have filmed multiple endings so even the actors didn't know the actual ending, whilst another suggested, 'It probably means she was the last one filming.' We'll just have to wait to see what happens!

Since the final season of Game of Thrones wrapped up, other members of the cast have also posted messages on social media, with Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, saying, 'Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #💔#lastseasonitis'.

Meanwhile, if you're happy to read a few spoilers, here is everything we know so far about Game of Thrones season 8.

Currently there are rumours that some of the lead characters will be 'killed off', however despite Maisie's recent post nothing has been confirmed. At a recent conference HBO's senior VP of drama didn't give too much away saying, "It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers. None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths.

"It was amazing. By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes."

Away from the TV series, stars of the programme Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, recently wed in a stunning ceremony. Kit, who plays the infamous Jon Snow, and Rose, who played his love interest Ygritte, before leaving the series in 2015, married in Rose's home county of Aberdeenshire.

Though the couple had largely kept the preparations under wraps, the date for the wedding was posted at the Huntly registry office last month, with the ceremony itself taking place at Rayne Church in West Garioch.

Last year the couple announced their engagement in a very traditional way by printing it in The Times newspaper. The announcement read,

'Mr K.C. Harington and Miss R.E. Leslie

'The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.'
