The Emmy nominations are in and there are some surprises

The nominations for the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced and there are some surprises amongst the familiar contenders such as Game of Thrones, Stranger Things and Westworld. This time around Game of Thrones has a massive 22 noms including Best drama series, Best supporting actress and actor, Drama and Guest Actress, Drama.

This year the big surprise is Netflix leads with a total of 112 nominations, beating HBO (Game of Thrones) previous record of 108 nominations. Stranger Things actress. Millie Bobby Brown is up for the best supporting actress award for her performance in the series and The Late Late Show with James Corden is up for the outstanding variety talk show award. This year's Emmys are due to take place on the 17th September 2018 hosted by Saturday Night Live's Michael Che and Colin Jost.
