It's not often that celebrities are star-struck when they see other celebrities, but on last night's Golden Globes red carpet singer Kelly Clarkson couldn't believe it when she saw actress Meryl Streep coming towards her.

Kelly, who was speaking to heat radio presenter Ryan Seacrest at the time, started to walk down the red carpet steps when she suddenly screamed, "Oh my god!".

Taken aback, Ryan thought the 'Heartbeat Song' singer had tripped and fallen, but in fact she had just spied her idol, Meryl Streep.

"That's Meryl, that's Meryl!" Kelly exclaimed as she turned away from the actress.

She then shouted across to Meryl, "Can I meet you?"

Carefully walking down the red carpet steps Kelly made her way over to the Hollywood actress saying how she was a massive fan. "I AM SUCH A FAN, I've adored you since I was like, eight!" Kelly continued.

The pair then met in front of the world's cameras and hugged, with the acting legend even planting a kiss on the singer's cheek.

Kelly has previously said how much she adores Meryl Streep, and even mentioned how she was hoping to meet Meryl in her new web series Minute + Glass Of Wine, where she talks about everything that she likes at the moment, from songs to films.

The Golden Globes was the first big awards ceremony of the year and saw most of the attendees wearing black in support of the #MeToo movement. There were however three people, all women, who decided not to wear black. They were actress Blanca Blanco, Hollywood Foreign Press President Meher Tatna, and model and actress Barbara Meier. Blanca and Meher later explained why they chose not to wear black.

At the 75th Golden Globes the big winners included Nicole Kidman who won Best Performance by an actress in a limited series or television movie, for her part in Big Little Lies. Ewan McGregor took home the award for best actor in a limited series or television movie for his part in Fargo.
