Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie tied the knot on Saturday (23rd June). Many of their colleagues from the hit HBO show were in attendance at the ceremony, which took place in Rose's home county of Aberdeenshire.

Though the couple had largely kept the preparations under wraps, the date for the wedding was posted at the Huntly registry office last month, with the ceremony itself taking place at Rayne Church in West Garioch.

Once Kit and Rose had officially tied the knot, the festivities moved on to Wardhill Castle, one of Scotland's oldest castles, which has been owned by the Leslie family for the past 900 years (how’s that for a GoT-esque dynasty?). The newlyweds travelled from the first location to the second in an old 4x4, complete with trailing cans and a 'Just Married' banner.

Given that Kit had previously joked about asking the Game of Thrones producers to give his co-stars a day off for the occasion, it was no surprise to see some familiar faces from Westeros in attendance.

Guests included the couple's Thrones__ co-stars Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Richard Madden and Sophie Turner, as well as Marcus Mumford (on crutches and without wife Carey Mulligan) and Holliday Grainger.

For the occasion, Rose kept things traditional in a sweeping white gown with long, lace-embellished sleeves and a long veil, paired with a floral garland in her hair. It's not yet been revealed which designer the actress chose to wear down the aisle.

Of course, everyone on social media made the same joke...

The couple first met in 2012 while filming Game of Thrones; though Rose, who previously starred in Downton Abbey, left the show after two years, Kit (who plays Jon Snow) has gone on to become one of the show’s most recognisable faces.

Discussing their relationship with L’Uomo Vogue, Harington said that it was "very easy" to fall in love with his co-star, and revealed that the three weeks the pair spent filming in Iceland for the second season was his favourite memory from working on the show.

"Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love," he said of the time. "If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love."

The couple announced their engagement last September in the ‘Forthcoming Marriages’ column of the Times newspaper, in a message reading: 'The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.'
