Millie Court and Liam Reardon reveal reasons behind split and how they reunited
They're back together!
Love Island winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon have finally revealed why they broke up and how they managed to rekindle they relationship, which is now 'better than ever'.
After winning the hit ITV2 dating show back in 2021, fans were shocked when the couple announced they had split in July 2022. However, Millie and Liam have since reunited and have recently posted cute snaps together on social media.
Speaking to the Mail Online, Millie explained that her and Liam ended things on good terms, meaning she felt the door was always open for them to get back together in the future.
She said: "It didn't end sourly, it wasn't that kind of breakup. It was a decision that we needed a break. I think we both knew it wasn't going to be something that ended forever, I think we knew it was something we wanted to revisit, but it was time that we needed. We managed to make it work again and now it's better than ever.
"Liam was 21 when he went on the show and had his birthday in there and he's 24 now and I'm coming up to 27! So we're maybe a bit more mature as well."
Despite much speculation that the pair had reunited, they initially chose to keep their reunion quiet to avoid scrutiny on social media. Explaining the reasons behind their decision, Liam said: "People have private lives and can't put everything on social media. And we were on the building blocks of our relationship together.
"We went our separate ways last year and that was partly because so many people felt like they were involved in our relationship and stuck their noses in.
"Some people obviously were being friendly, but sometimes you just want a bit of privacy. We decided if we're going to make this work, we have to make it work for us and not let other people interfere. Especially in the early stages."
Millie added: "We just wanted to work on us and have fun and build our relationship and not have anyone's opinions on it at that time."

Although Lillie didn't make it into the main villa following her time at Casa Amor, bosses decided to invite her back for a one-on-one chat with Millie, where the girls discussed Liam's behaviour.

Following her chat with Lillie, a devastated Millie decided to cool things off with Liam, with Liam being forced to sleep in the 'dog house', despite admitting he wouldn't give up on trying to put things right.

Following a surprise performance from pop star Mabel, Liam took to the stage to declare his feelings for Millie, in front of the rest of the Islanders.
He said: "You blew me away with your flawless looks, piercing blue eyes, infectious smile and amazing personality that draws me to you.
"It's the way you make me smile without even saying anything that brings me back for more.
"I didn't expect to come to Love Island and find a potential soulmate so early on but I've found that and so much more in you. I've never been one to have boxes that need ticking, it's all about how someone makes me feel. I've never felt this way before...."

Putting the past behind them, Millie and Liam made up much to the delight of fans, with the pair looking stronger than ever going into the final two weeks of the show as an 'exclusive' couple.

OK, so not quite! But Millie and Liam did experience what their future could be like as they looked after their 'son' Jackson for the day. The pair sailed through the challenge showing their parenting skills.

Millie and Liam are crowned the Love Island winners
With a massive 42.02% of the vote, Millie and Liam were crowned the Love Island 2021 winners ahead of Chloe and Toby, Faye and Teddy, and Kaz and Tyler.
The pair decided to split the £50,000 prize money.

After winning the show, Millie and Liam chatted to Love Island bosses where they discussed a future proposal and babies.
Millie said: "The proposal is going to have to be massive", with Liam adding: "It's going to be huge. I'm sure I can pull it out of the bag. I'm sure I can do it."

Just days after admitting she was 'dating' somebody, rumours were rife that Millie and Liam had decided to give their relationship another go in April 2023. Reports suggested the pair were dating and enjoyed a trip to the Lake District together over the Easter weekend.
