Katy Perry asked for pics of cherry pies and we think we know why

Random as ever popstar Katy Perry has asked her fans to bake her a cherry pie in exchange for a surprise!

Katy tweeted the request yesterday and has already been inundated with photos of fans' pies, retweeting a selection.

It turns out some of the fans are rather good bakers and when Katy questioned whether this girl's was a shop-bought pie another responded, 'If it was store bought it would be in a tin container not in a glass pie dish. This is def homemade'.

Katy replied, 'this is actually a good observation and I could be wrong 🍒💋'.

With the suggestion of a surprise from the popstar many Katy Kats are speculating the singer could be about to announce a new single, however nothing has been confirmed yet.

Time to get baking!
