Fans of both Liam Payne and Shawn Mendes have been calling out for the pair to do a collaboration for a number of months now, but the two pop stars sent their fans into overdrive once more last night.
As both Liam and Shawn were in Germany for an awards show, the pair made time to catch up backstage, with the former One Direction singer later posting a photo of the pair together.
As Shawn clutches his guitar and Liam looks like he's about to drop some lyrics, fans of the pair were left VERY excited at the thought of a collaboration. Alongside the photo, Liam wrote, 'Good to catch up with @shawnmendes in Berlin 🇩🇪'. sic
One user wrote, 'MY TWO FAVES', with another adding, 'dueettttt'. sic
More fans were quick to ask if they had any plans to work together on a song, a user with the name heyits.aita wrote, 'DO A COLLABORATION WITH SHAWN!'. sic Another then asked, 'Working on a song???? 😳😳'.
The exchange all started when the 'Stitches' singer posted a number of photos of himself during a surfing trip, writing, 'Lmao. Where are these coming from!' sic
Replying to his tweet, Liam wrote, 'Sorry man I took them ... couldn’t help myself 🤷🏻♂️'. sic

Meanwhile, after enjoying a family holiday with his girlfriend Cheryl and baby Bear, Liam was back at work last night.
Promoting his single 'For You' out in Germany, Liam took to the stage at an awards show alongside Rita Ora to give an amazing performance of the single.
Sharing photos from his performance, Liam wrote, 'Enjoyed performing #ForYou tonight with @ritaora at the @echo_musikpreis in Berlin! Had a blast 🚀 ✨🌑✨'. sic

Since releasing his solo music last year, Liam has enjoyed major success with hits such as 'Get Low', 'Strip That Down' and 'Bedroom Floor'.
The 24-year-old's latest single is set to be with Colombian artist J Balvin. Speaking into the camera for his Instagram Story back in February, Liam attempted to confirm the news in the Spanish language, revealing the single will be called 'Familiar'.
Despite this, it hasn't yet been confirmed when the single will land.
