WATCH: Singers who turned down major hits

Who knew?!

Some of the biggest tracks in the world were originally meant to be sung by other artists, that was until they turned them down!

The likes of 'The Middle' by Zedd, 'Umbrella' by Rihanna, 'We Can't Stop' by Miley Cyrus, 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams, and many more were all originally meant for other superstars!

'The Middle' was Zedd's follow-up to his 2017 collaborations, 'Get Low' with Liam Payne and 'Stay' with Alessia Cara. Zedd premiered the song during this year's GRAMMYs in January and it has since been a top 10 hit around the world. Despite its success the song was turned down by a massive 12 artists beforehand!

Check out the biggest collaborations so far this year:

'Umbrella' was number 1 in 2007, but did you know who was meant to sing it before Rihanna?

'We Can't Stop' was the first number 1 Miley Cyrus had, but would it have been as successful with a different vocalist?

And 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams spent a huge 92 weeks on the chart, topping the charts three times! You'd kick yourself for passing up on that song!
