Bridgerton star teases serious season two gossip

After what seems like an eternity, the second series of Bridgerton is nearly upon us, with the second series landing on Netflix on 25th March 2022.

Show star Nicola Coughlan has been doing all she can to get us all excited to see what’s in store for series two, and she’s now teased some saucy scenes that involve her character Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton.

Ooooo-er!

Spilling all the tea to Elle magazine, Nicola teased: "Oh yes, it's going to happen!

“We used to joke about it, really inappropriate jokes, like, 'Wouldn't it be funny if we did this when we do it?'"

She continued: "As time goes on it becomes more real. Now it's not funny anymore! Everyone's like, 'You're going to have to kiss Luke! On the lips!'"

Back in October last year, Nicola admitted that season two will see the drama “ramp up” a notch.

"We're shooting all those big dramatic scenes for the end," she explained, hinting at "big, heavy, dramatic stuff. It's exhausting but very satisfying."

She also said: "I think it's safe to say that you will see more of Penelope's life... I think in series two you kind of see how the sausage gets made and all that's happening."

Earlier this month, Netflix released eight brand new images of the new cast settling in, that include some very cute dogs and the upcoming romance between Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (played by newcomer Simone Ashley).

In November 2021, Nicola shared a photo of all the cast watching the final cut with the caption: ‘Came to London to see these rascals and to see Bridgerton Season Two Episode One.

‘And spoiler-it's f**king brilliant.’

Bridgerton Season 2 will arrive on Netflix on 25th March 2022 and we cannot wait!
