The Love Island drama just keeps on coming - in last night's episode (19th July), viewers watched with open mouths as Georgia Steel and Sam Bird refused to recouple with someone else. Georgia and Sam, who had been together in the Love Island villa until earlier this week, were forced to choose whether to split up in order to stay in the villa, or leave as a couple.

They chose to stay in the villa as single people, but when it came to last night's recoupling, the pair of them couldn't bring themselves to be with anyone else whilst still in the villa, so made an announcement to the other Islanders.

Sam stood in front of the others and said, "I'd like to say something that's quite important to me. Obviously, me and Georgia made a decision to split up a few days ago. Ever since then, I've gravitated towards Georgia," adding that, "Georgia is the person" he wants to be with, and that he was "falling for her," before defiantly saying, "I actually refuse to recouple and if it means I have to leave the villa then I will."

Georgia announced her similar intentions, saying, "I feel like the last couple of days, I've not only lost a guy that I really fancy but I've also lost my best mate. I'm not going to recouple with somebody that I would be messing with their emotions because that's not me. I want to recouple with Sam inside the villa or outside the villa, whatever that might be," before grabbing her man for a steamy smooch.

After their speeches, Georgia and Sam received a text, explaining that their time on the show was up and that the would have to leave. Of course, all their friends were sorry to see them go - but having now left the Island, Georgia and Sam have dished the dirt on their fellow Islanders, revealing who they think is playing a game on the show.

Georgia said, "I do feel like there is somebody playing a game. Before Josh went to Casa Amor, he said he saw a future with me and then a few hours later he was in bed with another girl. I don’t think feelings, if they’re real like mine - you can’t get over a situation like that without feeling guilty.

"It does make me think maybe what he said to me wasn’t true and he was playing a bit of a game at that point. I do feel like he has true feelings with Kaz and I wish them all the best. I am ultimately happy with what happened as now I have Sam."

But Sam had different ideas, saying, "I think new Jack is playing a big game. I feel like some of his intentions aren’t genuine. He’s tried to play out different scenarios to go towards his favour.

"It was quite obvious that he wasn’t into Laura and it’s really disappointing because the public saved them and not me and Georgia, and had it been the other way round we would have stayed in the villa. He was saved for the wrong reasons."

They also both revealed that neither of them had any regrets about their time on Love Island, as Georgia said, "If I’d stayed and recoupled with a new boy, I would have started to be disloyal and I wouldn’t have been genuine, and would have been going against everything that I am.

"I would have been staying in there for all the wrong reasons hence why Sam and I left together. I went into Love Island to have a bit of fun and meet someone. I’ve done both of those things and I’ve left with my head held high."

Sam added, "I feel like I’ve been completely true to myself and my feelings. I feel like me getting into a new couple when I didn’t want to would be an ingenuine thing to do and would have been unfair on the person I was coupling up with. I found my girl and it was the right time to leave and put it out to her that I wasn’t happy. I’ve left with my head held high and a smile on my face. It wasn’t a sad moment."

They also both agreed that their decision to split earlier in the week had only made them stronger, as Sam said, "We’ve had ups and downs and made the decision to split up which made us realise how strong our feelings are for each other and how we are meant to be together. The fact we’ve left together is a strong, positive start to the relationship."

Georgia added, "I honestly realised he was the one for me after the Beach Club twist. If I felt the way I did now when we were at the Beach Club, we would have left together then. However, the fact that we went through that experience helped our relationship grow together and made us realise that we were meant to be because no matter who went into the villa after that, my head definitely wouldn’t have been turned."

The Love Island couples are now:

Josh Denzel and Kaz Crossley.

Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer.

Wes Nelson and Megan Barton Hanson.

Paul Knops and Laura Anderson.

Jack Fowler and Laura Crane.

Dr. Alex George and Alexandra Cane.

Josh Mair and Stephanie Lam.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
