A man has been jailed for burgling a flat and a restaurant in Bournemouth.

Terence Michael Richard Bryant, aged 38 and of no fixed abode, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court last Thursday (15 February) and was sentenced for two burglary offences as well as possession of a bladed article.

On the evening of Thursday 8 January 2024 entry was force to a restaurant in Southbourne Grove as well as a flat above the premises. A car key was stolen as well as a number of bank cards from the flat and cash and a debit card were taken from the till of the restaurant.

Enquiries identified Bryant as a suspect for the burglary and officers came across him while carrying out unrelated enquiries at another address in Bournemouth. The defendant tried to make off from them but was detained and was also found in possession of a fixed blade.

Investigations Officer Max Surman, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “We recognise the impact burglaries have on both residents and commercial properties.

“Thanks to our enquiries we were able to identify Terence Bryant as the man responsible for these offences and bring him before the court to face justice.”
