The hunt is on for the best Halloween house in Chickerell - for the honour of a super spooky title.

The Town Council's been calling on households to decorate their homes for the season, with other residents choosing the winner for the first time.

The contest has been running for a number of years, but previously the annual cup winner has been chosen by the Mayor.

Photographs of the entries will be available for people to choose from at a Halloween Spooktacular at Willowbed Hall this afternoon (Friday 28th October) between 1.00 and 3.30pm.

The party is free to enter with lots of fun activities for families, including a bouncy castle, face painting, storytelling, a dance creeptacular show, yoga, and pebble painting.

The Mayor, and Chair of Spirit of Chickerell, John Worth, will then present the prize to the winning house on All Hallows Eve itself (Tuesday 31st October).
