Man assaulted in Weymouth playground

The victim was taken to hospital after being punched in the face

A man's been assaulted in a Weymouth playground, and needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

The victim, in his 20s, was punched in the side of the face by an unknown man.

It happened in the Marsh playground, behind the Knightsdale Road leisure centre, just after 5.00pm on Wednesday (7th February).

There's now a police appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

PC Jamie Ralphs, of Weymouth police, said:

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to please come forward.

“If you have information that may help identify the unknown man involved, please get in touch.”
