Poole: Man arrested after transphobic attack

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following a transphobic attack in Poole.

Officers said the victim was verbally abused and had a lit cigarette thrown at them while outside a restaurant on Bournemouth Road at around 11.00pm on Saturday.

The victim was not injured, despite being pushed.

A 40-year-old man from Poole has been questioned and released under investigation.

PC Madeleine Baldwin from Dorset Police, said: "We are following all available lines of enquiry and would ask anyone who attended the restaurant that night and saw what happened who hasn’t already spoken to police to please come forward."
