A section of cliff has fallen into the sea at East Cliff Beach, West Bay.

The rubble is blocking access to the east side of the beach towards Burton Bradstock, although the footpath nearby remains open.

Dorset Council rangers are currently assessing the situation and are urging us to keep clear regardless, in case of further rockfalls.

A Dorset Council spokesperson said:

"Our rangers are on the scene and are assessing, although the rockfall is substantial it is not as big as previous rockfalls. Signage is not required at this time and the footpath remains unaffected.

"We are advising the public to stay away as there could be further rockfall. We will continue to monitor the area consistently over the next week."
