Teenage girl suffers "very serious injuries" in Poole collision

Banks Road remains closed on Boxing Day morning as police continue their investigations.

A teenage girl's in hospital with very serious injuries after a collision in Poole.

Dorset Police say they were called to the crash on Banks Road, in the Sandbanks area of the town, at 1:01am on 26 December.

Two cars, a black Mercedes and a grey BMW, were involved in the collision.

A 17-year-old girl from Poole, who was a passenger in Mercedes, was taken to hospital with what officers describe as "very serious injuries."

The driver of the Mercedes was also been taken to hospital as a precaution.

Banks Road remains closed into the morning as officers continue their investigations.

Inspector Craig Tatton, from Dorset Police's Roads Policing Team, said:

“I am appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to please come forward.

“Also, I would urge anyone who has dashcam fitted to their vehicle and was in the vicinity at the time to check whether they have captured anything of relevance that might assist our enquiries.

“We are aware that the road closure has an impact on the traffic and access in this area and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while it is necessary to keep it in place to enable us to fully investigate the circumstance of the collision.”
