Woman seriously injured after being hit by car in Weymouth

She was knocked down on Albany Road

A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Weymouth.

The woman in her 70's was knocked down on Albany Road, just after 5pm on Monday afternoon.

The accident involved a white Vauxhall Corsa.

She sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Another person who was with her was uninjured.

Police appeal

Police Constable Stephen Pratt, of Weymouth police, said: “I understand several members of the public came to the aid of the pedestrians, but they have not spoken to police.

“I would ask these people to please get in touch, as well as anyone else who witnessed what happened.

“Also, if you were driving in the area and captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, please contact Dorset Police.”
