CBB viewers outraged as Marnie Simpson performs sex act with a banana

As if Celebrity Big Brother hasn’t come under enough criticism this series for its sexual scenes and full frontal nudity, the show has yet again aired more controversial scenes involving Marnie and a banana.
In scenes which were aired on CBB spin off show, Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, the Geordie Shore star performed a sex act on a banana after asking Katie Waissel to show her ‘technique’.
After witnessing the shocking moment, viewers were left outraged and disgusted at what they were viewing and took to social media to express their shock.
Earlier in the series, Marnie was slammed for her antics after she flaunted around the house naked. Marnie stepped out of the shower completely naked before making an attempt to cover herself up with a towel. Viewers witnessed the 24-year-old getting close in the shower with Lewis Bloor before he peeped out behind the frosted glass showing off his manhood.
Big Brother bosses came under fire by shocked viewers for not blurring out both Marnie and Lewis' privates in the scene.
An Ofcom spokesperson then said “We have received 54 complaints about Celebrity Big Brother from last night. We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not.”
Activists, known as Mediawatch UK then claimed the show should be axed following it’s ‘unnecessary’ scenes.
Speaking to a national newspaper, they said “If Channel 5 needs to resort to this sort of controversy to maintain any interest in Celebrity Big Brother, then perhaps the format needs to be allowed to die a bit more quietly.
“What’s more concerning here is Channel 5’s on demand service that allows children to watch such programmes with just a box tick to say they’re old enough. Post-watershed is one thing but the Internet means nudity is on the air 24 hours a day.”
Despite the controversy, the show continues to air every night with the final set to take place on Friday 26th August.
