Actors Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have announced they will be 'legally separating' after eight years of marriage.

The pair made the announcement simultaneously on their social media accounts and said, 'We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.'

They went on to say they would like to 'keep this situation as private as possible moving forward' for the sake of their four-year-old son Jack, who they share together.

Chris and Anna ended their statement saying, 'We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.'

This announcement has come as a shock to many fans of the couple, who just a few months ago were publicly praising each other. In April Chris was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Anna gave a lengthy and emotional speech to the crowd saying, she was "so proud" of him, describing Chris as the "most incredible person".
