Coleen Rooney has broken her silence on social media for the first time since her husband Wayne Rooney was arrested for drink driving.

Everton footballer Wayne was stopped by police last Friday night while driving a black VW Beetle in Cheshire. The footballer has been released on bail and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on 18th September.

Coleen flew home from her holiday and has now broken her silence for the first time on social media. Avoiding any mention of her husband, Coleen slammed the paparazzi for following her and her three children.

Taking to Twitter, Coleen wrote, 'Please can photographers have respect and stop following me with my three children in the car… it's dangerous and I’ve had enough.'

It is being reported that Wayne was driving a girl called Laura Simpson home at the time of his arrest.

Coleen and Wayne have been together since they were both 16-years-old and just last month announced they are expecting their fourth child together.

The mum-of-three shared her happy news to her 1.25 million Twitter followers when she wrote, 'So Happy!!! ..... Never denied the news, but I was always protecting it!! Had scan & all checks are fine.....Baby number 4 is on its way. 😍'

The couple already have three children together, they share three boys, Kai, seven, Klay, four, and Kit, one.

Wayne is yet to publicly comment on the situation.

The couple's fourth child is expected to arrive at the end of the year.
