Coronation Street viewers not happy with swear word ‘slip’

Viewers took to social media to express their anger

Coronation Street viewers were left in shock last night after the soap aired a swear word before the 9pm watershed.

The scene in question aired during the 7.30pm episode on Wednesday night (4th January) and caused outrage on social media with fans.

Catherinie Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price in the ITV soap, thought she’d found out her boyfriend Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) had been cheating on her with Alya Nazir in their flat, however as viewers know she was mistaking as he’s actually been having an affair with Eva’s best friend Maria Connor.

This didn’t stop Eva lashing out at her discovery and called Aidan ‘a lying, cheating b**’.

After hearing her language, viewers were quick to take to social media to express their anger at the soap.

It comes after viewers spotted TWO mistakes in one episode earlier in the week. The first blunder involved a continuity error when Johnny Connor and Jenny Bradley were having breakfast served by cafe owner Roy.

As viewers noticed, it took the pair a rather long time to eat the most important meal of the day, tweeting, '3hrs to eat your breakfast !!!!' with a photo of two stills from the episode. One photo clearly showed a large clock with the time 9 o'clock, but just seconds later in the same scene the same clock read 12 o'clock.

Viewers also noticed something all too familiar about the prison gates of HM Prison Norcross where Maria Connor is being held. In the scene Aidan is outside the prison on the phone to Eva, but for those familiar with the TV series it wasn't long before viewers noticed that he was actually outside the Coronation Street gates.

Coronation Street bosses are yet to comment on any of the recent blunders.

The popular soap continues weekdays on ITV, with the Eva, Aidan and Maria storyline set to play out even further.
