Craig David on whether he will return to the Love Island villa

It was one of the biggest TV moments of 2019, so when Craig David joined us backstage at Hits Live Birmingham, we just had to find out more about THAT performance in the Love Island villa back in the Summer.

Craig, who delighted the sold-out crowd at Hits Live Birmingham with his epic set, told presenter Greg Burns about the surreal moment he saw Caroline Flack's iconic slow-motion walk, and whether or not he'd be up for Winter Love Island in 2020.

He said, "Listen if they ask me to go and do another DJ set on there because we did like a proper pool party in the villa and to actually do the slo-mo Caroline flat walk-in, which was a moment.

"Also, it’s that thing of like going to shows and like I said with the Arena Tour I am seeing like 16-year-old kids, I’m seeing the guys who came with me the first time round and also then seeing the generation after that. Who are like more coming up in the wings and hear a rewind, but maybe want to sit down on a couple of tunes too its unbelievable man.; I am just very grateful to have three generations come to see my shows."

Craig also told us about the adorable moment he helped two fans get engaged at one of his shows.

Speaking to Greg, Craig said, "I love the proposals, there were two young girls that came up to my show at Kew Gardens and I heard they wanted to… well, the one girl, Jade, wants to propose to her girlfriend.

"So I kind of asked someone can you go and find them, they are right in the front. We got them to the side of the stage, I finished singing Rendezvous one of the songs for the first album, got them to come on stage. She said her bit, she said yes, it was a beautiful moment and when you’ve got like 10000 people going crazy, screaming and clapping I mean those are the moments I live for its incredible."
