Former The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge has opened up about the vile and distressing messages she received on Twitter which left her fearing for her life.

Speaking on a recent episode of Lorraine, the mum-of-two admitted she has received harsh comments about her weight, past relationships and revealed some trolls went as far as sending her death threats.

Admitting she's never had any social media training, Frankie said "It just really frightened me really. I didn’t really tell anyone about it. I just thought because it’s online I just thought, ‘oh what can you do about it?’ I think that's the worst thing, it does make you feel quite lonely and that there’s nothing you can do about it."

Frankie was on the show to talk about Channel 5's brand new documentary Celeb Trolls: We're Coming To Get You , which sees Frankie meet the trolls behind her abuse.

Speaking about the experience she said "When you go and meet these trolls, it's become a faceless thing. People have become very brave, they've become very safe. It hurts just as much and it's just as scary as if I say it to your face or if I say it online."

Since The Saturdays started their hiatus in 2014, Frankie has been enjoying time with her family.

She married footballer Wayne Bridge in 2014 and the pair have two children together, two-year-old Parker and one-year old Carter.

After finishing 2nd in the 2014 series of Strictly Come Dancing, the 27-year-old expressed interest in appearing in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, but recently she ruled herself out of the series which is set to begin later in the year.

She said "It was the one other show that I would maybe do, but now I've got the boys, I don't think I would because of 3 weeks not knowing how they are. Maybe a few years ago I would have done it but not now."
