Giovanna Fletcher sums up struggles of being a parent in Instagram post
The mum-of-two described her day out
Giovanna Fletcher has summed up just what it’s like being a parent in a candid post to her fans on Instagram.
The mum-of-two shared a story about her day out with her boys, two-year-old Buzz and six-month-old Buddy and admitted she felt like a ‘beaten woman’ at the end of it without the support from her husband Tom Fletcher.
Posing for a selfie with her children in the background, Giovanna admitted ‘Suddenly realised I rarely get a full day on my own with the munchkins but if I do I’ve tended to stay at home and in the garden… but today it happened’
The 31-year-old then went on to describe her day out, writing ‘I took them out. We went to the shops. The first hour was fab, they were laughing and playing together. Then they napped… Brilliant!’
It all seemed to be going well for Giovanna and then she shared the next part of her story, which involved meeting up for lunch with Emma and Matt Willis. Giovanna continued ‘Then we met the Willis’ for lunch and it all fell to pot. Buzz didn’t want to stay in his seat and wouldn’t listen to me. Buddy continuously moaned and then had a full blown meltdown (I think he’s teething)…’
Bringing her ordeal to an end, Giovanna then added ‘Now we’re home they’re laughing and playing again but I’m a beaten woman. Read someone’s Instagram post that read ‘You got this Mama’… Today I don’t feel ‘I got this’. Although, if you think about it, only the last hour was a disaster and the rest was fab. So it was actually a 75% successful trip. Now time for dinner, bath and bed… The fun never ends! #mumlife #wouldntchangeit #needaliedown'.
After seeing the message, fellow parents were quick to relate to the post and commented with their support. One user called @itsme.jo said ‘Sounds all too familiar’ whilst another called @misskerrydcook said ‘This woman keeps me sane knowing that it’s not just me!’
Back in March, Giovanna beat the likes of Adele and Jessics Ennis-Hill to be named icelolly.com’s Celebrity Mum of the Year.

After being crowned, she admitted the award wouldn’t stop her from doubting herself when it comes to parenting. She said “I don't think that's going to help me at three o'clock in the morning when I'm having a meltdown. I think it's perfectly natural that every mum and dad go through periods where they question every single thing that they're doing.’
Giovanna and Tom welcomed Buddy Bob in February and their first child, Buzz, back in 2014.
Both parents share constant updates of their family life to their Instagram pages.
