The 2020 Strictly Come Dancing launch is now just weeks away, but it sounds like the show could be in a little bit of chaos, as confirmed contestant HRVY has revealed he's tested positive for Covid-19.

Taking to his social media pages. HRVY, real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell, told his fans, 'hi, wasn’t gonna worry anyone and say anything but now the story’s out, i have coronavirus, I’m all good, no symptoms, just isolating for the next 10 days. already super bored so prepare yourselves for my Tik toks'. (sic)

Luckily for the 'Personal' singer, HRVY isn't suffering from any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19, and is self-isolating to help avoid the spread.

Updating his loyal fan base on his Instagram Story later in the evening, HRVY said, "Hi guys, so I wasn't going to say anything because I didn't want to worry anybody or be dramatic but now the story's out there. I have coronavirus. I've tested positive.

"All is fine, I'm isolating. I have no symptoms. I'm just chilling. I'm bored. I've been making a million TikToks if you haven't seen already.

"It just proves that us youngsters can get it and not even realise."

The news of HRVY's diagnosis comes just days after it was revealed that any contestant who contracts the virus during filming will immediately be eliminated from the show.

Sarah James, the Executive Producer for Strictly, told the Radio Times, "Unfortunately if you receive a positive test, that means you wouldn't be able to continue in the competition.

"Obviously with government guidelines, if you receive a positive test you have to isolate for two weeks and that would unfortunately rule them out of the show."

The Strictly launch show will take place on Monday 12th October, with the first show taking place on Saturday 24th October.

Strictly will then air every Saturday night up until Saturday 19th December.
