If you've seen the official photos of this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (or watched it over the past fifteen years, for that matter), you might've noticed something about all the stars heading for the jungle. Yes they all look very glam and YES there's a lot of khaki going on, but have you ever wondered why they're all in red socks?

Well it turns out it's more than some kind of (really quite bizarre) fashion statement, and the real reason behind the decision is actually a bit gross.

On-site medic Bob over in Australia, told Woman's Own the contestants must wear said red socks so blood from any insect bites doesn't show up on screen.

NASTY! 😱😱😱

The new series of I'm A Celebrity kicks off on Sunday 19th November on ITV, and earlier this week the ten celebrities were revealed to the public when bosses released the official photos.

The likes of Amir Khan, Jennie McAlpine, Jamie Lomas, Georgia Toffolo and many more are heading into the jungle.

See the full confirmed line-up below:

Jennie McAlpine

Best known for playing Fiz in popular soap Coronation Street, Jennie is taking a short break from the soap to enter the jungle.
Despite entering the jungle she reassured fans she would be returning to the cobbles saying, "Yeah, this is just a little holiday. What is happening to Fiz whilst I am away? That is a good question."

Jamie Lomas

Former Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas is best known for playing the role of Warren Fox in the soap.

Stanley Johnson

Former MP and father of Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, Stanley Johnson, arrived in Australia ahead of the popular reality TV show. He said he was "excited" to be taking part in the show.

Vanessa White

Famous for being part of girl group The Saturdays, Vanessa said she's scared of many of the things she will encounter in the jungle.
Speaking to press she said, "I am really excited to be here, it is my first time in Australia, I can't wait to take part."

Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo

Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo, better known by her nickname 'Toff', arrived in Australia with three bags of luggage saying "I've packed a lot!"

Dennis Wise

Former footballer Dennis Wise arrived in Australia ready for the show wearing tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie.

Jack Maynard

Jack Maynard is a YouTube sensation who has 1.1 million subscribers to his channel and thousands of views on every one of his videos. Jack is also the brother of singer Conor Maynard.

Amir Khan

World-famous boxer Amir Khan signed up to I'm A Celebrity to "stay out of trouble" and said he would stay in shape while on the show by taking "gentle jogs".

Shappi Khorsandi

Comedienne and author Shappi Khorsandi has arrived in Australia ahead of the new series of I'm A Celebrity. In 2007 she won the Chortle Award and has performed stand-up routines around the world.

Rebekah Vardy

Wife of England and Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy landed in Australia for the new series of I'm A Celeb. Rebekah was the final celebrity confirmed for the 2017 series.

Kezia Dugdale

Kezia Dugdale is the former leader of Scottish Labour and entered the jungle as one of two late entry campmates.

Iain Lee

Radio host Iain Lee is also a late entry campmate.

Despite the show being expected to start on Sunday, it has been reported that the camp mates could be evacuated in the first week due to a massive storm which is set to hit Australia's Gold Coast.

A source told a national newspaper, “We are preparing for all eventualities. Provisions are in place for soggy conditions and camp mates are equipped with waterproofs to wear should it rain heavily.

“It’s just a shame for viewers back home in the UK who like to see the celebs enjoying the warm weather."

Let's hope the rain holds off! 🌧️
