Justin Bieber guilty of assault and careless driving

His problems with the law continue

Justin Bieber has pleaded guilty to charges of assault and careless driving in connection with a collision with paparazzi in Canada.

The 21-year old was ordered to pay a fine of $750 (£390) fine for the careless driving, however a more serious dangerous driving charge was withdrawn.

Bieber was given an absolute discharge for the alleged assault, meaning that although he was found guilty, no conviction will show up on his record.

The incident was reported to have taken place in September 2014 near his hometown in Stratford, Ontario, where he was visiting family with his then girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The pair were allegedly on a “quiet retreat” when they were “unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi”, according to Bieber’s lawyer.

Justin was then accused of driving his All-Terrain Vehicle into a minivan owned by a photographer, then getting into a “physical altercation” with the driver.

Over the past few years Bieber has had a number of run-ins with the law in a variety of countries, for instances such as drag racing and throwing eggs at a neighbour’s home.
