Katie Price gives heartbreaking update about her mum Amy's health

Amy has a terminal lung condition

2018 was certainly a turbulent year for former glamour model Katie Price. Not only did the mum-of-five split from her cheating husband Kieran Hayler, Katie was arrested for drink-driving, narrowly avoided being declared bankrupt. and she even spent time in rehab where she received severe traumatic rehabilitation.

As if this wasn't enough for one person to deal with, Katie also found out that her beloved mum Amy has a terminal illness, and now she's given fans a heartbreaking update about her condition.

Returning to the Loose Women panel to set the record straight on her 'most difficult year yet', Katie opened up to the ladies.

Katie emotionally revealed that her mum Amy, who was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at the start of 2018, is 'deteriorating'. She told the panel, "She has deteriorated. You would notice it. I look at it now and her little shaking, her little chest… But I say to her ‘the more you still moan at me mum, the more I know you’re alright.'"

She added, “Even today she said 'make sure you mention this, make sure you do that.'”

According to the NHS, 'idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a condition in which the lungs become scarred and breathing becomes increasingly difficult. ... Several treatments can help reduce the rate at which IPF gets worse, but there's currently no treatment that can stop or reverse the scarring of the lungs.'

Meanwhile, after certain news outlets reported that Katie was admitted to rehab for 'drink and drug' issues, Katie set the record straight with the Loose Women panel, revealing her side of the story.

She said, "They the press said I was in rehab for drink and drugs. Nothing to do with that at all, absolutely nothing. I wasn’t even near anyone who was doing drink and drugs in The Priory. I was in there as they said.. severe traumatic rehabilitation is what I needed. It was to do with all that had happened to me at the beginning of the year. So if you imagine in year ago I got told my mum was dying, my dog got run over and killed on my driveway, my horse got killed outside my house, I had a kidnap threat with Harvey, I caught the ex husband cheating again then obviously divorcing him, then I had the hijack where I was held at gunpoint in South Africa.

“If you imagine all of that..It was a nightmare so I went to the doctors and said I’m not myself. I wouldn’t go horse riding, I just wanted to sleep all the time, I couldn’t turn to anyone. So I went into the Priory, I wasn’t a resident in there, I literally took the kids to school went in there for the day and picked the kids up after."
