If you cast your minds back to March 2017, One Direction singer Liam Payne and former Girls Aloud star Cheryl welcomed a baby boy called Bear Grey Payne together, following one of the worst kept pregnancy secrets of the decade (not including Kylie Jenner).
Ever since the pair confirmed their son's birth on Instagram, both Cheryl and Liam have kept Bear out of the spotlight, but that doesn't mean proud dad Liam hasn't gushed about his son at every given opportunity.
However, just weeks after calling his ex-girlfriend Cheryl the 'most important person in his life', despite now dating model Maya Henry, Liam has revealed how he 'struggled to bond' with Bear in the first few months of his life.
Opening up to The Guardian in a candid interview, the 'Strip That Down' singer said, "I built it up so much in my head. Finding your feet in that relationship between child and father - it's difficult.
"Cheryl was always really glued to Bear, so for me, I was like, 'What's my role in this? If I cook and look after her, then in turn I'm looking after him' - that made sense to me."
Despite Liam and Cheryl announcing their split in 2018 following a two and a half year romance, the former couple are on good terms and co-parent their two-year-old son.

Calling Cheryl the 'most important person' in his life, Liam told Ant, “Becoming a dad at such a young age, it’s such a difficult thing. And I think I built fatherhood up so much in my head that it kind of messed me up to start with.
