As Little Mix they were one of the biggest and most beloved girl bands in the world. After meeting on The X Factor in 2011, the girls went on to win British Group at The BRIT Awards 2021, and were also nominated for British Group at The BRITs 2022.

Even when on hiatus, the girls have continued to break records. In April 2023, Little Mix became the first female group in history to reach 23 million certified units sold in the UK.

Are Little Mix splitting up?

Little Mix ARE NOT splitting up! However, the girls are now on a hiatus.

On Thursday 2nd December 2021, Little Mix released a statement to confirm they would be taking a break from the band to pursue solo projects after their 'Confetti' tour in April/May 2022.

The band said: 'We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix. It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.'

They continued: 'We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.

'We are not splitting up - Little Mix are here to stay 💫 We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.

'We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever ♥️ See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x'. (sic)

Have Little Mix ever split up before?

No, Little Mix have never broken up as a band. Since winning The X Factor in 2011, the girls have worked non-stop. They once said that they would not go on as a trio if one of them left, with Jade saying: "I can't see us ever feuding. Or getting back together without one of us being involved. People know we’re friends. It's not fake with us, you can just tell."

Leigh-Anne agreed: "If one of us didn’t want to come back with us, we couldn’t do it. Even the Spice Girls - who came back without Victoria - they could do it. But we couldn’t do it."

However, after Jesy Nelson left the group in December 2020, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade confirmed that they would be carrying on as a trio. Jesy went on to release solo song 'Boyz' featuring Nicki Minaj in October 2021, followed by 'Bad Thing' in April 2023.
