One Direction started their hiatus back in January 2016, and since then Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and former member Zayn Malik, have had successful solo careers. However, every One Direction fan secretly hoped that the group, who were formed on The X Factor back in 2010, would reform - after all, a hiatus is only a temporary break right?

Well, while we haven't had any official word from the boys, it seems fans have noticed something unusual about the One Direction online shop, which is causing many to speculate that this might actually be the end of One Direction. It was earlier this week that a 1D fan account posted a photo of the One Direction shop saying, 'Sorry, this store is no longer available'. Noooo!

Take a look at One Direction through the years:

One Direction formed on The X Factor in 2010. All five members auditioned as individual contestants and were put together as a group by Simon Cowell.

This has caused a mild state of panic amongst fans who have been responding to the original tweet saying, 'My heart just broke into a million tiny pieces', 'this whole thread made me sad', and another responding with a photo of Harry with the caption, 'WHYYYY'. sic

One Direction last released a single, 'History', in November 2015, a few months later announcing their hiatus, and since then the members have been working on their solo projects. Louis Tomlinson has joined The X Factor judging panel, along with Robbie Williams, his wife Ayda Williams, and returning head judge Simon Cowell.

Meanwhile, Niall Horan is currently part of the way through his 'Flicker' World Tour. The singer recently made headlines after he invited a little girl onto the stage with him. He held her hand as he sang 'Slow Hands', with the little girl, Jade, singing along. The cute moment was captured by another fan and posted online.

The pop star also helped a fan come out to his parents in the best way. Niall met one of his biggest fans, Garrett, who documented his story on social media.

Since their hiatus began, Harry Styles has released a self-titled solo album, as well as making his acting debut in Dunkirk, which was released last year. Sticking to music, Liam and Zayn have both been releasing songs, including some fantastic collaborations.

Liam teamed up with Rita Ora on 'For You' which was on the soundtrack to Fifty Shades Freed, meanwhile former 1D member, Zayn, has had a number of singles including his collab with Australian singer Sia, 'Dusk Till Dawn' in 2017.
