Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has revealed how she injured her hand in a recent Instagram Story. The singer took to social media to reveal a photo of her very bruised hand and told her fans, 'Oh yea. I jammed my hand in the big chunky studio door at like midnight last night. I wanted to cry but I didn't. It was AWFUL!' sic

She followed the first photo with another showing the other side of her hand saying, 'Poor swollen/bruised pinky/hand'.

Perrie also revealed in her Instagram Story that the girls had been working late in the recording studio on their forthcoming album, when the injury happened. Posting a video covered with captions such as 'LM5' and 'The excitement is real', she said she likes to record in her 'pjs'.

Perrie's fans were quick to take to social media to comment on the painful injury, sending the 'Power' singer their thoughts, hoping she gets better soon.

One fan also showed concern for her saying she should get it 'checked out'.

Rumours about Little Mix's fifth album have been circulating for many months, but in March they confirmed they would be returning to the studio. Taking to the group's Twitter account they said they had started working on their new album, 'It's official...#LM5 is actually in the works... 😮 We're going to be patiently waiting for this one, it's going to be an absolute dream! 😍 LM HQ x'.

After announcing they were back in the studio fans have been calling on the girls to do collaborations with some of the biggest acts around, including Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles and Dua Lipa, however nothing has been confirmed yet. Despite that, last year two of the group's biggest hits were collaborations, including 'Reggaetón Lento (Remix)' with CNCO, so we hold high hopes for their new album.

In January this year singer RAYE let slip that she had already started working on some songs for their new album. RAYE was nominated for a BRIT Award for her song 'You Don't Know Me' with Jax Jones and is also a songwriter. She revealed to the Daily Star that she has been writing for Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson.

When asked what she has been working on RAYE said, "The Little Mix album, I've been writing for that. For every 10 guys there's one girl, everywhere you go." She went on to explain that it's important for girls to support each other in the music industry.

"It's very overwhelming and I think it's really important that girls have started to support each other more, all becoming friends, and it's like a community. It's so important," she said.

"I think we need more female collaborations because it isn't enough."
