They're one of the UK's most loved presenting duos but now Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have revealed the hilarious reason they don't travel to This Morning together.

Despite the fact that they've been married for eight years and live together, Ruth has admitted she doesn't get in the car with her husband on the way to This Morning because he always makes her late.

Speaking to Closer, she explained, "We don't travel together because he always makes me late also he has the air conditioning on in the car at minus 25 it's freezing.

"He has some crackly radio station and I just like quiet so I can read the papers and do my preparation."

Even though This Morning starts at half past 10 in the morning, Ruth actually leaves her house four hours before that.

"I leave home at about half past six, quarter to seven so I beat the traffic. I like to read the papers quietly then we have a meeting - in our makeup room - to talk through the show and eventually Eamonn ships up."
