"I had a ball," he insists

Movie icon Samuel L Jackson has taken to Twitter to rubbish claims he had an “awkward moment” sitting next to Victoria Beckham at Wimbledon.

During the men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer at Centre Court on Sunday, TV cameras flashed to the Royal Box where Samuel L Jackson and Posh were sat next to each other.

People on Twitter believed the pair were sitting as far away as possible from each other and picked up on Victoria’s apparently “awkward” facial expression.

Viewers created a series of Vine videos and GIFs from the footage, which swiftly went viral.

Rubbishing the online furore, 65-year-old Mr L Jackson wrote on Twitter: “Lotta Bulls**t goin' round, I had a ball sitting next to @victoriabeckham at Wimbledon yesterday! Truly Lovely! STFU!!”

Victoria Beckham has yet to comment directly on the “awkward moment” but did write: “So much fun at @Wimbledon today! Congratulations @DjokerNole and @rogerfederer #wimbledon2014 x vb.”
