Selena Gomez has returned to social media with a meaningful message for her fans

As any Selena Gomez fan will know, the pop star has been taking a break from social media, that is until now. The 'Wolves' singer has returned to Instagram with a message for her fans telling them, 'It’s been awhile since you have heard from me, but I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and to thank you for your love and support.'

She continued, 'Last year was definitely a year of self-reflection, challenges and growth. It’s always those challenges which show you who you are and what you are capable of overcoming. Trust me, it’s not easy, but I am proud of the person I am becoming and look forward to the year ahead. Love you all.'

Just a day after posting her series of three photos have been liked more than 8 million times with fans welcoming her back to the social platform. One fan commented, 'I♡ ü my queen👑', sic with another saying, 'You are beautiful Selena I also wish you a happy new year and full of happiness and success I am very happy for you I love you❤️ '.

The pop star soon followed her comeback post with another, telling her fans that she can't wait to share details of some of her new projects for 2019.

Selena's return to social media comes just a few days after it was revealed that she and her pop star friend Taylor Swift enjoyed a night in together. Taylor took to Instagram to share a blurred snap of the pop stars with actress Cazzie David.

In 2018, Selena released just one song, 'Back To You', which was featured on the Netflix's 13 Reasons Why soundtrack. Selena is an executive producer on series and has previously recorded a version of Yaz's 'Only You' for the TV programme's soundtrack.
