We caught up with The X Factor judges and presenters ahead of Saturday's TV show and Simon Cowell talked to us about One Direction’s split.
He told us has known about it for a while "we knew with the workload they had they couldn't keep going like this" he said.
He continued, "I like the fact that the One Direction boys are still interested in the show. Niall texted me yesterday to say what was the show like?"
Also on the red carpet fellow judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini told us there were times in the series that she cried, "there are some moments with Rita, in particular, who has her own way of describing metaphors...I have literally cried laughing" she said. I guess we'll just have to watch on Saturday to see what she's talking about.
The X Factor presenters, Olly Murs and Caroline Flack were also at the event.
They said that there were changes to the show this time around, "the essentials are still there" Caroline said, "your ups and downs, your laughs your tears" but they admit it has been "freshened up a little bit".
The X Factor starts on ITV this Saturday.
