‘Therapy’ was released on the same day Anne-Marie dropped her incredible collaboration with Little Mix called 'Kiss My (Uh Oh)' - which is an absolute banger, by the way.

Anne-Marie shot to fame after working with artists like Rudimental and Ed Sheeran, releasing her debut album 'Speak Your Mind' in 2018 - and now that she has gifted us all with her follow-up, there's even talk of a third album on the way.

Anne-Marie on 'Therapy'

Announcing the record in May 2021, the singer-songwriter, who is an ambassador for mental health charity Mind, said: "Ugh, it feels SO GOOD to announce my new album, 'Therapy'. Music is a source of healing for everyone and music is therapy itself, right?! I hadn’t realised until we were hit by the pandemic just how much I NEEDED music.

"I need to perform. I need to write. My lyrics are my open diary to you all and writing this album has helped me focus and understand my feelings. I needed this album."

To celebrate the album announcement, the '2002' chart-topper and former One Direction star Niall Horan also released their much-anticipated collab ‘Our Song’ inspired by nostalgia. Anne-Marie also confirmed that collaborations with KSI and Digital Farm Animals ‘Don’t Play’, ‘Way Too Long’ with Nathan Dawe and MoStack and ‘Our Song’ with Niall Horan will all feature on the LP.

Anne-Marie confirms release date and album title

On Friday 21st May 2021, Anne-Marie announced the release date and title of her second album - 'Therapy' on 23rd July. Taking to Instagram, she shared a clip of the album artwork, along with a heartfelt caption which read: 'My second baby 👶 It’s been a while huh!?

'I’ve written so many songs since 'Speak Your Mind' and I have grown and changed so much during that time too. I’ve been very high and very low, I’ve been lost and now I’m found. Since the pandemic I had time to realise I needed some help with my brain & I finally found the light.

'As well as music being my therapy, I’ve also been seeing a professional psychologist for about a year now, once every week and it has completely changed my life. This album represents that journey. It’s full of happy, sad, revenge, love and revelation and I hope you feel all of those things when you listen to it.

'I love you all. More than you could ever imagine. If you’re looking for a sign to reach out to someone and ask for help, this is it 💗.'

What is Anne-Marie's second album called?

When was it released?

'Therapy' was released on Friday 23rd July 2021! The release date was confirmed in May 2021 after Anne-Marie confirmed in April that the album was almost ready. She said: “I’ve got one song left to do and then it’s done. One song left to master is a big sentence to say! It’s exciting," adding that the name and track list had also been decided.

Where did it get in the charts?

'Therapy' peaked at Number 2 in the UK charts.

Did Anne-Marie tour her second album?

'Therapy': The meaning behind Anne-Marie's second album title

She said: "Music is a source of healing for everyone and music is therapy itself, right?! I hadn’t realised until we were hit by the pandemic just how much I NEEDED music. I need to perform. I need to write. My lyrics are my open diary to you all and writing this album has helped me focus and understand my feelings. I needed this album.

"As well as seeking therapy from writing and music in general, I’ve also been on a journey of seeing a psychiatrist this past year and it has changed my life. I’ve always tried to be as open as I can with my fans about my own journey and through seeing a professional, I’ve been able to start combatting and understand the anxieties my brain has dealt me over the years. I am learning, and I am progressing.

"This album helped me get to that place too and it encapsulates lots of feelings and emotions, whether it’s tracks that focus on my own ride, or the ones that I have just loved making, and I hope you can lose yourself in it.

"I made this for you and me."

There certainly are! She confirmed in May that her collaborations with KSI and Digital Farm Animals ‘Don’t Play’, ‘Way Too Long’ with Nathan Dawe and MoStack as well as ‘Our Song’ with Niall Horan would all feature on the LP.

However, the big talking point is Anne-Marie's collab with Little Mix girls Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. After teasing the track in 2020, 'Kiss My (Uh Oh)' is listed as Number 2 on Anne-Marie's album!
