'Attention' singer Charlie Puth has some bad news for fans who were hoping to hear his new album, which was due to be released later this month.

The singer tweeted to his 2 million followers saying, 'So I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I have to push the album release date.'

He went on to explain how he is producing his forthcoming album 'Voicenotes' himself and with that 'comes a lot of work, and in my opinion, the album is not perfect yet.'

However, he did confirm that he would still release it 'this year, and soon.'

In second tweet Charlie explained that to make up for the delayed release he would be dropping a song which he did with Boys II Men 'tomorrow'. He revealed, 'it's probably one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written' so we can't wait to hear that!' sic

So, it's not all bad news for fans who were hoping to hear 'Voicenotes' in January, it is coming, we'll just have to wait a little longer.

Back in 2016 Charlie released his debut album 'Nine Track Mind' which featured hits such as 'Marvin Gaye' featuring Meghan Trainor and 'We Don't Talk Anymore' featuring Selena Gomez. Then last year he has released 'Attention' and 'How Long', which both entered the top 10 in the UK and are featured on his forthcoming album, so if they're anything to go by the album will be amazing!

Now take a look at pop albums to look forward to in 2018:
