Dermot Kennedy reveals what was on his rider at Hits Live Birmingham 😜

The lovely Dermot Kennedy is quickly becoming one of our favourite Irishmen, especially after he joined us this year for Hits Live Birmingham on Saturday 20th November, performing his biggest hits at the Resorts World Arena.

Dermot performed to the sold out crowd on the night, as well as amazing performances from Anne-Marie, Rag’n’Bone Man, James Arthur, Becky Hill, Tom Grennan, Years & Years, KSI and The Wanted.

As well showing off his vocals, Dermot chatted to Tom Green backstage and revealed what's on his rider. And is seems that Dermot is easily pleased with some chocolates and a bit of spare time.

Revealing his request backstage, Dermot said: "There was two boxes of celebrations, and I've had time today too, so one of them came back to the hotel."

Dermot went on to reveal that back at the hotel he, "Had a bath and some Maltesers," as well as watching the football. "Life is good" he confirmed.

The 'Outnumbered' singer also revealed how he felt after he had to cancel some of his tour due to Covid. "March 2020," Dermot recounted: "We had about six dates left on American tour. We had to cancel Australia coming into the summer and then beyond that just cancelling, cancelling, cancelling- well, postponing the whole time.

"Australia in particular, we still have to get there. Do you know what I mean? It's still postponed. I have every intention of doing every single show that's been pushed and we've gotten some of them done.

"All that sort of stuff. Yeah, we’re in the middle of a tour. Same as a lot of people. We were lucky. We got a lot done."

Ever since Dermot released his debut album 'Without Fear' in 2019, which flew straight to Number 1, the singer-songwriter has been making waves in the music industry, rapidly getting noticed for his amazing vocals and lyrics.

With singles like 'Outnumbered' and 'Power Over Me', fans are very excited for Dermot to release more music, with the singer dropping hints on his Instagram page that his second album is in the works.
