James Bay's comeback song 'Give Me The Reason' has been followed up by a new track released on 13th May, called 'One Life'. The song, James has explained: 'Is a song I wrote about the most precious and private part of my life, my relationship with Lucy.'

James and Lucy have been together since they were 16-years-old, and according to James, his girlfriend has supported him from day one. 'Lucy has been next to me every step of the way, I feel extremely lucky that I get to say that,' he wrote in the caption for a video he shared on Instagram.

The video cycles through old photos of the couple from when they were teenagers, ending with one of the couple with their daughter Ada.

James also opened up about the song in an interview with NME.com, saying: "I’d never written from this perspective before. I’d never written from a place of such joy and positivity.

"Lucy and I first got together at 16 and have been together ever since. She’s supported me since day one. From open mic nights, right through to my biggest shows. It’s been one adventure after another, but now we’re on the biggest one of all. Raising our beautiful daughter Ada."

'One Life' is out now, and James has also released the lyric video, which you can watch below...

James has now premiered the music video for his single 'One Life' Facebook, saying: 'The video for One Life is out now on Facebook! What is James Bay's new album called?

James' upcoming album 'Leap', will be the singer's third album when it is released in July. He told NME that he will be returning to the stripped-back, guitar-driven sound of his debut album ‘The Chaos And The Calm’, rather than the synths and electronic sounds of his second release.

He also revealed during a gig that that it would be more positive and upbeat.

'Leap' has been a long time in the making, with some of the songs recorded before the pandemic. James told how he had just returned home from Nashville two days before the first lockdown, meaning he mixed and mastered 12 songs from home.

He's also worked remotely with Billie Eilish's songwriting/producing brother Finneas, but he can't wait to meet him in person saying: "I hope I get out there soon so we can sit down for a drink and connect in the real world."
